Ultra lightness

The Wilier 0 SLR's distinctive feature is its lightweight frame: at 780 grams for the M size in the matte black version, the Wilier 0 SLR is at the top of Wilier Triestina's superlight frame range. In fact, with the top spec, the complete bike tips the scales at 6.5 kg.

Total integration
Among the most popular trends among the general public is the pursuit of the purest aesthetic. Since 2016, with the Cento10AIR, we have been pursuing this path (among the first manufacturers in the world), placing the brake and control cables inside the monocoque handlebar integrated into the frame. The Wilier 0 SLR further enhances this feature because total integration is combined with a record-breaking weight for the frame, fork, and handlebar. The various elements that allow for integration have been re-engineered and evolved: the integrated 0 handlebar, the composite handlebar spacers, and the frame's head tube section.

Easy-fit spacers
The spacers between the frame's head tube and the handlebars are made of high-rigidity composite material, with a special cavity for cable routing. They consist of two parts for quick assembly and disassembly, without interfering with the cables running between the handlebars and the frame.

Stiffness to weight
In carbon frames, high STW (stiffness-to-weight) values ​​are synonymous with performance; typically, to achieve a stiff frame, additional material is added, thus increasing its weight. Conversely, if the goal is to reduce weight, you run the risk of compromising stiffness and, consequently, handling and riding safety.
On the Wilier 0 SLR, thanks to the carbon blend used, the particular positioning of the fibres and the construction technology, we have managed to achieve an absolutely top level of lightness and rigidity, improving the STW value of the previous Zero.7 and Zero.6 models by 24%.

Seatpost and fixing
A monocoque carbon seatpost with a proprietary Wilier Triestina design has been created for the Wilier 0 SLR. Its streamlined shape recalls the truncated tail profiles of the aerodynamic Filante SLR model. Available in two geometries: 0mm and 15mm setback, compatible with the Ritchey 1-Bolt seat clamp. It attaches to the frame via an expander housed inside the top tube.

Asymmetry becomes the solution
Power transmission to the rear wheel must not be subject to dispersion that causes a loss of pedaling efficiency. To address this requirement, the rear triangle has been designed asymmetrically, with the left chain stay slightly more inclined upward than the right. This measure prevents lateral skidding due to the force exerted by the cyclist on the chain, making asymmetry a solution.

Speed ​​release thru axles
These pins allow for quick wheel removal from the frame without having to completely remove the pin from the wheel hub. This solution significantly reduces wheel removal and installation times. During a race, a wheel change saves an average of 7 seconds compared to a traditional thru-axle. The Speed ​​Release pin was also chosen with a view to saving weight (only 85 grams per pair) and protecting the integrity of the frame.
