The Merida Silex 4000 is a gravel bike with a Silex CF2 II frame and carbon fork, for excursions and bikepacking trips. The Shimano GRX drivetrain with 46-30 double chainring is paired with the 11-36 cassette. The 45 mm Maxxis Rambler tires and multiple mounting points for bags, bottle cages, and mudguards complete a versatile setup for alternating between asphalt and dirt roads.

The SILEX 4000 is the entry into our range of carbon fiber frames, combining our lightweight frame and fork with high-value components such as the absolutely durable 10-speed Shimano GRX drivetrain, with a double chainset for the ability to climb any slope. The robust tubeless-ready Maxxis Rambler tires and our mountain bike-inspired geometry provide predictable grip and a well-planted stance on any surface.

The SILEX transforms any trip into an adventure, whether you are participating in a multi-day bikepacking trip or simply taking the most fun route to work. The latest version is based on the winning pedigree of the original SILEX but adds even more off-road capability, thanks to a wider head tube angle and greater tire clearance up to 700x45 mm or even 42 mm when mudguards are installed. With carbon and aluminum frame options, there is a SILEX to suit every budget, but they all share multiple mounting points, mudguard supports, and other features that lend themselves so well to this all-purpose bike. We have added our elegant WIRE PORT cable routing for a cleaner and more modern design, and the carbon fiber fork used on all models now features more cargo mounts and an internal passage designed for an optional dynamo. With the option of using 1x or 2x drivetrains, you can choose your drivetrain based on the task at hand or your personal preferences, opening up a world of opportunities for you and your SILEX.
