When we developed the Tarmac Disc, we didn't just want it to be fast. We wanted it to be fast everywhere. On long climbs, flats against the wind, in stage races, or granfondos. A complete race bike. We got there by starting with our Rider-First Engineered™ frame, stiff in just the right places and with the same ride quality across all sizes. Thanks to our aerodynamic technology, this Tarmac is 30 seconds faster over 40km than the SL5 version. Plus, it's 20% lighter. Nothing comes as light, fast, or maneuverable.
- To build the FACT 9r carbon fiber frame, we used software used in the aerospace industry to optimize composite materials.
- Five hundred carbon fiber pieces that make up seven different frame sizes with the same ride quality—that's Rider-First Engineered™. Each frame has its own layup schedule, tuned for specific performance targets, thanks to fiber orientation, material placement in specific areas, and dedicated carbon grades.
- Aerodynamics are essential if we want to make you faster. Our goal was to find aerodynamic gains without compromising the Tarmac's light weight. During the development process, we discovered three areas where we could achieve this—a new fork shape, lowered seatstays with aerodynamic tubes, and a D-shaped seatpost and seat tube. The result is a bike that's approximately 45 seconds faster over 40km than other bikes in the same category.
- Performance Road Geometry is based on Retül data and professional athlete input to perfect the combination of a responsive front end and a short wheelbase for instant response and optimal power transfer.
